Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas Employees Donate Funds to Three Marshall Charitable Organizations

Richardson, TX — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) announced today that employees at its Marshall facility will donate a total of $6,018 to three local charities — American Cancer Society, March of Dimes and Girl Scouts of America.

The contributions are part of the health insurer’s Blue Corps program, which encourages employees to volunteer to serve the communities where they live, work and do business. Blue Cross matches its employees’ volunteer hours with a corporate donation. In addition, employees generously contribute their own funds through the company’s annual "Caring Campaign."

All three are well known national organizations which provide much needed services to the Marshall area and especially have a reputation for assisting and developing children.

"The employees at our Marshall facility do an excellent job of showing their support of our community," says Bryan Doerstling, vice president of BCBSTX’s Marshall claims and customer service center. "These funds will help us continue to meet our commitment to practicing good corporate citizenship by giving to worthy causes that make a difference in our community."
